Role Description
Mangrove Property Insurance is seeking a highly motivated Senior Claims Adjuster to investigate, evaluate, negotiate, and resolve residential property insurance claims throughout Florida. This role manages a caseload of moderate to complex claims while delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring compliance with company guidelines, policy provisions, and Florida regulations.
The Senior Claims Adjuster serves as a key resource within the Claims Department, collaborating with policyholders, contractors, attorneys, engineers, and internal stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate claim resolution.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Investigate and manage residential property claims from first notice of loss through final resolution.
- Evaluate coverage, liability, damages, and claim exposure in accordance with policy language and Florida statutes.
- Review engineer, contractor, and vendor reports to determine claim disposition.
- Negotiate settlements within established authority limits and recommend approvals when necessary.
- Maintain timely and accurate claim documentation within the claims management system.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with policyholders, public adjusters, agents, attorneys, and vendors.
- Monitor claim activity to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal service standards.
- Identify potential fraud indicators and escalate concerns appropriately.
- Participate in catastrophe response efforts as needed.
- Assist in training and mentoring junior claims staff.
- Support quality assurance initiatives and operational improvement projects.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent insurance claims experience.
- Minimum 5 years of residential property claims handling experience.
- Strong knowledge of homeowners insurance policies and coverage interpretation.
- Working knowledge of Florida property insurance regulations and claims practices.
- Experience handling moderate to complex property losses.
- Proficiency with claims management systems
- Excellent negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to effectively manage a high-volume workload and meet deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Florida All-Lines Adjuster License.
- Industry certifications such as AIC, CPCU, SCLA, or similar.
- Catastrophe claims experience.
- Prior experience mentoring or coaching claims professionals.
