Position Summary
Mangrove Insurance is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Claims Adjuster Trainee to join our Claims Department. This entry-level position is designed to provide hands-on training and development in property claims handling. Under the guidance of experienced adjusters and claims leadership, the trainee will learn to investigate, evaluate, document, and assist in the resolution of residential property insurance claims while delivering excellent customer service.
The Claims Adjuster Trainee will participate in a structured training program focused on policy coverage interpretation, claims investigation techniques, regulatory compliance, and claims system utilization. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in building a long-term career in property insurance claims.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- · Participate in company-sponsored training programs related to property insurance claims handling.
- · Assist with the investigation and evaluation of residential property claims under the supervision of licensed adjusters.
- · Review claim documentation, photographs, estimates, and vendor reports to support claim decisions.
- · Learn to interpret insurance policy provisions, coverage forms, and endorsements.
- · Communicate professionally with policyholders, agents, contractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
- · Maintain accurate and timely claim documentation within the claims management system.
- · Assist with obtaining statements, records, photographs, and other claim-related information.
- · Support claim file organization and administrative claim activities.
- · Monitor assigned claim activities to ensure timely follow-up and adherence to service standards.
- · Learn and apply Florida insurance regulations and company claims handling procedures.
- · Participate in catastrophe response efforts as needed.
- · Collaborate with team members and seek guidance to develop claims handling expertise.
- · Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- · High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- · Strong interest in pursuing a career in insurance claims handling.
- · Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- · Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- · Ability to learn new systems, processes, and technical concepts quickly.
- · Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- · Strong customer service orientation and professional demeanor.
- · Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- · Valid driver’s license and ability to travel within assigned territories when necessary.
Preferred Qualifications
- · Florida 6-20 All-Lines Adjuster License or willingness to obtain within a specified timeframe.
- · Prior customer service, insurance, construction, restoration, or property-related experience.
- · Familiarity with insurance terminology and claims practices.
- · Experience working in a professional office environment.
